What is the Pedal Tavern?

It’s a 16-person bicycle powered party on wheels. Perfect for pub crawls, bachelor/bachelorette parties, company outings, brewer games, brewery tours, the ideas are endless!

How much does the Pedal Tavern cost to rent?

For exact prices, go to our pricing tab. It’s about $10 per hour a seat, less Sunday - Thursday.

How many people can fit on the Pedal Tavern?

It can hold up to 16 people, there are 10 seats with pedals, 2 seats above the back wheels, and 3 seat bench on the back row, and one person can man the middle as the bartend and fetch the group drinks and snacks.

Who drives this thing?

We have an employee of ours drive and steer the unit. Your group can relax and have fun.

Can we bring food on?

For sure you can, we have lots of storage space on the pedal tavern.

Where do we board the Pedal Tavern?

Boarding and drop-off is at O'Lydia's Irish Pub (338 S. 1st Street). View our routes section for the location. We will call you ahead of time to confirm the location.

Can we drink while on board?

We are in talks with the city currently on getting the laws amended so passengers can drink. There is also a bill at the state level that is trying to make it legal. However at the current time we do not have approval to allow passengers to consume alcohol. Once we do get approval it will be a BYOB situation. No Glass bottles, there is plenty of room; you could easily put 3 or 4 coolers on board.

What’s the music situation?

We have speakers and a cd player system built in on these, bring your cds.

What if it rains?

Unless it’s really raining, we will ride. It’s actually really fun when it rains, groups have a blast. Plus there is a roof so you will stay pretty dry.

What is the cancellation policy?

If you cancel 30 days prior we will give you a refund. If you cancel when in 30 days, we will give you a rain check to use later in the season, or next season if it’s at the end of the season.  Cancellations within 3 days of the tour will not receive any type of a refund.

What are the hours of operation?

10am to 10pm, we would go earlier upon request.

How fast does this bad boy go?

It goes faster than Jason Kendall but not as fast as Ricky Weeks, it goes about 5 miles an hour.

Who can ride the Pedal Tavern?

You must be 21+ to ride.

To reach the pedal you need to be around 5’3”. If you are shorter, not a big deal, take bench seat, or bartend for the group.

How do we pay?

Call us at 414-405-6682 to book a tour. We accept cash, checks, debit or credit cards. You must pay at the time of reservation. We can split the payment on multiple cards.

How do we know if it’s available when we want it?

Can we make our own route?

Possibly give us a call, we are open to new routes for tours, the pedal tavern can go up small hills but not big ones, we need to make sure it’s possible but most importantly comfortable for your group.

What is the least amount of people needed to operate this thing?

You can it going with 2 or 3 pedalers, but it’s a workout. Ideally you want at least 6 people.

Where did this thing come from?

The Pedal Tavern is an import from Europe. It’s very popular in Amsterdam and Germany. Minneapolis was the first US City to have this. We rode it up there and realized that Milwaukee would love something like this.

Is the Pedal Tavern dangerous? 

It’s just like riding a bike… No seriously as with anything some risk is involved, however very few injuries have occurred in Amsterdam or Minneapolis.

Is the Pedal Tavern still fun if drinking is not allowed on board?

Hell Yeah! We have drink specials set up for all Pedal Tavern riders at the third ward bars. It is always "Happy Hour" while riding the Pedal Tavern! Come enjoy it - you'll be glad you did! Riders must be 21+ to participate on the pedal tavern.
